Making an appointment

Appointment information
Most appointments are booked for 15 minutes with the doctor or nurse. Some consultations take longer. For example, diabetic reviews, driving licence medicals, immunisations, insurance medicals, smears, smoking cessation advice and travel vaccines. Please advise the receptionist if you need a longer time when booking.

Doctor's appointment
We endeavour to give you an appointment with the doctor of your choice as far as is practical. Owing to the busyness of the practice, this may not always be possible. You will be offered the option of an appointment with another doctor or seeing your usual doctor at a later date.

Waiting times
We endeavour to be on time but sometimes we are running late. This is due to the variety and unpredictability of issues that can arise in consultations. We ask for your consideration with this as our doctors and nurses strive to provide an effective service.

You can help reduce waiting times by:
  • Only asking your doctor to deal with one or two problems in your 15 minute consultation slot. If you have several problems to discuss, please advise the receptionist and she will book a longer time. Please note that there will be an extra charge.
  • Not asking your doctor to see another family member in the same appointment. You will need to book a separate appointment for relatives.
  • Advising the receptionist if you need an appointment for a diabetic review, driving licence medical, insurance medical, minor surgery, smear, immunisation, smoking cessation advice or travel vaccine.
Don't waste a space!
If you can't keep your appointment, please call to let us know so that we can give it to someone else. From 1/10/2015, there will be a charge of $20.00 for failure to keep appointments and not advise us.
